In 2017, work will start on the construction of an extension on the site next to the current exhibition building Vleugel ’58. Both the new extension and the renovated Vleugel '58 will make one new house for contemporary art. A welcoming home with a new front door to the city. The Italian architect Francesca Torzo designed a sober and intimate building with great respect towards the unique heritage of the beguinage and to the city center of Hasselt. The construction and renovation will be finished in 2018. In the meantime, Z33 will present nomadic projects and exhibitions on various locations.
PERPETUAL UNCERTAINTY is an exploration of contemporary art in the nuclear anthropocene. The exhibition brings together international artists from across Europe, the USA and Japan to investigate experiences of nuclear technology, radiation and the complex relationship between knowledge and deep time.
This year Z33 is again part of the KUNSTENDAG VOOR KINDEREN. You're invited with your whole family on Sunday, 19. November, to get surprised through a free creative workshop in the name of the PERPETUAL UNCERTAINTY Exhibition.
